About this event

Please join us for to celebrate the opening of "Poetic Paradoxes: Poetry and Fine Printing from the Collections of Stanford M. Forrester and Ed Rayher's Swamp Press." This exhibition shows a small sampling from the extensive donations by Stanford M. Forrester and Ed Rayher of American haiku and of sumptuous fine press editions of American and, especially, New England poets. Poet Stanford M. Forrester (also known by his haibun of sekiro) will read selections from his extensive corpus of haiku, and SCA staff will host an interactive display of volumes from these two extensive collections that did not end up in the exhibition. These selections will be made in particular to highlight the way that haiku capture intimate moments in time and that fine printing creates rich, tactile embodiments of poetry through creative materials, design, and printing techniques. Light refreshments will be served.r to celebrate the opening of "Poetic Paradoxes: Poetry and Fine Printing from the
