We Are Here

About this event

WE ARE HERE is an immersive performance that transforms participants into co-creators of a live, unfolding event. Guided by sound and shared instructions, audiences will move through space together, forming temporary assemblies, unexpected alliances, and evolving narratives. Rather than observing from a distance, participants will shape the performance through choice, movement, and attention. Each action-where to stand, whom to follow, when to act-reshapes the collective experienc e. No two performances will be the same. Part performance, part social choreography, WE ARE HERE explores how communities form in real time and how individual decisions reverberate within a group. The stage emerges through participation itself, revealing the invisible structures that organize shared public life. This project invites students to collaboratively build an environment where listening, presence, and collective action become the dramaturgy. Directed by Professor of Theater, Design and Engineering Studies, Bailey College of the Environment, and Latin American Studies Marcela Oteiza. There will be four performances of WE ARE HERE: Thursday, November 12 and Friday, November 13, 2026 at 7:30pm Satu rday, November 14, 2026 at 2pm and 7:30pmp>
